Mario Hamel’s showcases aerobatics in the H101 Salto Sailplane as the only glider performer in North america. the Nanchang CJ6, piloted by Dan Fortin, transitions from a tow plane to a dynamic aerobatic performer across the sky. Mario Hamel’s Pitts Model 12 aerobatic routine also delivers powerful precision and spectacular maneuvers curated from over 30 years of flight experience.
It began with an idea.
What would it look like to showcase not only the beauty of silent flight in the H101 Salto Sailplane, but also display graceful aerobatics? That’s exactly what Mario Hamel thought, and Time Flies Airshows was created.
Originally performing as Yak Attack, Mario Hamel and Dan Fortin with his Nanchang CJ6 came together to create this stunning performance of aerobatic skill.

If that wasn’t exciting enough, Time Flies Airshows also can perform sunset shows with their pyro display from the wingtips of the Salto Sailplane.

With over two decades of experience and tailored logistics that eliminate the need for additional volunteers at your show, Mario, Micheline, and Dan ensure a seamless performance that’s as easy to host as it is extraordinary to watch.

Mario Hamel brings unrivaled expertise and artistry to the skies as North America’s only glider aerobatic performer. A former Canadian Forces Snowbird pilot, Mario’s career has been defined by precision, discipline, and a relentless passion for flight. With his H101 Salto Sailplane, he captivates audiences by transforming silent elegance into breathtaking aerobatic displays, inspiring a profound appreciation for the beauty and legacy of glider planes. Mario is also an active team member of the Northern Stars Aeroteam.
Standing alongside is Micheline, his partner both in life and in Time Flies Airshows. Micheline plays a pivotal volunteer role in every performance, managing logistics and ensuring seamless operations. Together, their shared dedication elevates Time Flies Airshows, delivering displays that are not just performances but a celebration of the artistry, history, and freedom of flight.
DAN Fortin
Dan Fortin brings a wealth of aviation experience as the dynamic CJ6 pilot in Time Flies Airshows’ thrilling dual act. With over 11,000 flight hours and a deep passion for aviation, Dan seamlessly provides towing abilities with a captivating solo aerobatic display in the CJ6. His dedication to the art of flight and inspiring the next generation sets the stage for unforgettable performances that celebrate skill, safety, and the joy of soaring through the skies.
